Description
Want to take your white ink prints further? This add-on lets you combine CMYK color printing with white ink for bolder designs and more creative options.
How to Order
Add this product to your cart in the same quantity as your white ink print order. Upload your combined white + color file on the White Ink Printing product page.
Minimum quantity: 10 prints. If your white ink order is fewer than 10, leave the quantity at the default (10) to cover the setup time for this service.
File Setup
All artwork in your PDF file needs to be set up in vector format using a program like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Affinity Designer. Convert all text to outlines before starting.
Start by following our White Ink Setup Guide to create your spot color swatch and base settings, then set up your file with two layers:
"White" Layer — Place your white ink design here using the spot color swatch from the setup guide. This includes any elements you want printed in white.
"CMYK" Layer — Place your color elements here using your final CMYK colors. This layer should sit above the "White" layer in your layer stack.
Creating Opaque Colors on Dark Paper
If you want a color like light blue or pink to appear vibrant on dark paper, the color ink needs a white base underneath it — otherwise it will blend into the paper and lose its intensity. To do this, duplicate the elements you want in color onto both layers: the "White" layer provides the opaque base, and the "CMYK" layer adds the color on top. Set the blending mode of the CMYK layer to "Multiply" so the layers work together correctly.
